The Commercial Manager - Credit is responsible for the successful operation of PPC as an entity including oversight of all legal, regulatory and financial requirements, preparation of board reports and statutory filings.

The role will need to work closely with the GM of Credit to ensure our partnership is appropriately supported in AU and to ensure effective reporting and monitoring to and by PPAU and 3PL.

The role will need to ensure that the consumer credit program and PayPal Working Capital program has the resources and support from Sydney and Singapore based staff /functions to support the execution of both credit programs.

This position will ensure that the appropriate processes & systems are in place to enable PPC to succeed.

  • Maintaining & managing Policy & Procedure Governance;
  • Collaboration with relevant stakeholders to fulfil contractural and operating requirements;;
  • Supporting maintenance of risks in line with risk taxonomy, framework & assessment process;
  • Providing objective, independent commercial assessments & recommendations;

Escalating timely and actionable information to key stakeholders within the PayPal organisation.


  • Oversight of corporate governance for PayPal Credit Pty Ltd (PPC) including co-ordinating PPC board meetings, capital injections from 3PL and ensuring appropriate reporting to 3PL, PayPal Credit and the PPAU boards
  • Provide a day-to-day leadership presence in Sydney for PPC (including PayPal Working Capital and Consumer Credit teams)
  • Bridge regional operations and support for PPC across multiple functions and ultimately own the delivery and co-ordination of internal services to PPC including Legal, Compliance, BRIC, ERM, Internal Audit, Tax and Finance.
  • Responsible for governance of the partnership program from a PayPal perspective, including co-ordinating the Program Committee and sub-committees meetings, content and presenters where appropriate
  • Engagement with Tax on transfer pricing arrangements for PayPal Working Capital and Consumer Credit programs
  • Represent PPC on the AU Leadership Team when GM not available and work closely with the AU MD and Leadership Team to ensure optimal alignment of PPAU and PPC
  • Oversight and monitoring of services and service levels provided by 3PL to PPC (and Inc to 3PL) in accordance with the DSA and work with Tax and Finance on long-term funding and structuring options
  • Co-ordination and delivery of the business delivery work stream of the consumer program, including finance, legal, governance and tax
  • Development of the strategy, framework and implementation of operational risk management programs for both consumer and working capital businesses in Australia
  • Advise on the inherent risks and/or compliance issues that may impact PPC

  • Impeccable written and verbal communications skills with the ability to translate, articulate and present highly technical and complex procedural recommendations, regulations, laws and policies to a variety of audiences
