The Commercial Growth Manager-New Verticals will be located in Toronto Ontario.


PayPal Canada is looking for customer-centric Commercial Growth Manager-New Verticals to drive new commercial opportunities and manage existing ones leveraging PayPal's set of products, services and brand in Canada. The candidate will identify, drive and build strategic relationships with business partners in new verticals as identified by Business Unit Leadership and working closely with global teams. Our ideal candidate will have deep experience in business planning, business development and strategic relationship building.
 

ROLE & RESPONSIBLITIES:

  • Identify and/or analyse feasibility of new business opportunities in identified verticals with necessary due diligence of the eco-system players (e.g. platforms, system integrators, web developers, payment Service providers etc.)
  • Work closely with Large Enterprise Sales, Partner Sales and Telesales to support convert ready opportunities
  • For large and complex leads, work with internal Technical Integration specialist and Product managers to evaluate solutions options.
  • Drive new vertical specific customer or partner engagements from initial pitch to deal execution and on-going relationship management.
  • Act as primary liaison with internal key contacts (Sales, Marketing, Integration, Product, Operations, Finance, Legal, Risk, Compliance etc.) for verticals business growth
  • Maintain good understanding of the external environment to anticipate changes and seek for new opportunities that can impact the opportunities
  • Prepare and give business reviews to the BU management team regarding progress and roadblocks in growing the verticals

WORK EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5+ years’ experience in business/partner development, strategic sales within the eCommerce, Payments, Financial Services, Retail or Internet in general. Experience with payments in utilities, telecommunication, education and government is a plus.
  • Understanding of technical integration process with large and complex partnerships
  • Proven track record in planning and strategic formulation and execution of strategy. Solid business sense with effective balance of strategic vision and tactical execution.
  • Experience working in ideally a small team, hands-on environment.

  • Team player with demonstrated ability to execute cross-functionally. Ability to work in virtual and multi-national teams, builds relationships, and work effectively as a part of a team.
  • Excellent writing, communications, and presentation skills. Ability to communicate effectively both internal and external stakeholders.

EDUCATION

  • Successful completion of a university Bachelor’s degree preferably in Business, Marketing or Technology; MBA a plus
