PayPal’s Collections Strategy Team is seeking an Operations Analyst to support PayPal’s growing transaction related collection efforts. This position will be primarily responsible for forecasting key operations metrics and assist in the development of insightful analytics to aid recovery improvements.

PayPal’s Collections Strategy Team is seeking an Operations Analyst to support PayPal’s growing transaction related collection efforts.  This position will be primarily responsible for forecasting key operations metrics and assist in the development of insightful analytics to aid recovery improvements.


A successful candidate will have a customer-focused approach, incorporate a strategic and analytical view, integrate creativity, and be highly effective at communicating with internal and external partners. In this role, you will collaborate with diverse cross-functional teams to create analytics to aid initiatives geared towards operational success.


You must have the ability to succeed in a heavily matrixed environment, where success is dependent on your ability to collaborate with and influence partners across the enterprise in a positive, productive, and transparent way. In addition, the role will also be responsible for the design, development and maintenance of forecasting models for key operational metrics.


As part of your responsibilities, you will:


  • Act as the collections analytics SME, helping define metrics to measure collections success
  • Create and maintain a forecasting model for key metrics to inform operational goals
  • Serve as the collections team’s lead on interactions with the global Risk and Loss Forecasting teams
  • Present the forecasting process and drivers to collections teams across all markets

Job Requirements 


  • Highly organized, with demonstrated skills managing a variety of tasks and work streams in a fast-paced environment.
  • 5+ years of proven Risk or analytics experience in Financial Services, Payment Transactions or other financial related industry; forecasting experience preferred
  • Ability to efficiently and effectively work with cross-functional teams to understand operational changes and incorporate them into the forecast process appropriately
  • SAS and SQL skills to be able to run complex data queries and research risk strategy and collections impacts
  • Proficient with MS office applications to include the ability to use PowerPoint for management presentations
  • Ability to determine appropriate measurements of success with the skill to properly analyze and apply learning’s from results

Effective communication skills to talk on the collections team’s behalf, across the PayPal organization, both vertically and horizontally
