The focus of this role will be on assisting teams, and PayPal employees at large, with understanding collaboration tools available to them and how best to adopt and use them to improve productive teamwork. Often, this requires the ability to intermediate between the technical teams and the business to ensure that business requirements are understood and addressed by proposed technical/tool solutions within PayPal’s collaboration tools ecosystem. In support of that, the incumbent will be expected to become a subject matter expert (SME) on all of PayPal’s collaboration tools, developing a deep understanding of both the technical aspects and the user-facing features and capabilities of the tools.

As an SME, the incumbent will be called upon to:

  • Lead or assist with any and all aspects of collaboration tool projects (as needed/delegated by the Collaboration Team)
  • Perform demonstrations of PayPal’s supported collaboration tools via video/audio conference and/or live in-person meetings
  • Work with teams to assess collaboration requirements/needs and make recommendations for tool use and process re-engineering to maximize team collaboration (may include assisting team to implement recommendations)
  • Provide SME support to colleagues in the larger Collaboration Team and supporting teams such as Change Management and L2/Support teams, necessary to meet their objectives/needs (i.e. product/tool input on research, user documentation, OCM readiness and training assessments, and support articles).
  • Have technical SME level knowledge of O365 apps, such as Flows and PowerApps, at the level to help build out or provide consultation for solutions to user requirements.

Other duties may include:

  • Serving as a back-up admin for tools/platforms maintained by the Collaboration Team
  • Facilitating license procurement, organizing associated cross charging within PayPal, as well as account creation/provisioning and/or vendor relationship management.

To successfully fulfill the responsibilities of this role, the following skills and experience are highly desired:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (absolute need to be comfortable and confident interacting and engaging with employees at all levels who present themselves from a variety of communication styles)
  • Strategic and analytical thinking (helping others with solutions often requires dynamic interpretation and assessment of needs and perceived cost/benefit analysis associated with changing behavior, workflows and/or tools)
  • Ability to consume information quickly and make logical connections to increase, and retain, understanding of user needs and available tools/options to satisfy those needs
  • Must be a motivated self-starter that constantly looks for new ways to add value to the team while maintaining a thorough knowledge of collaboration tools and day to day tasks
  • Experience working in a variety of business roles is very beneficial towards better understanding the needs of users seeking tools solutions
  • Experience working with a variety of collaboration and productivity tools (e.g. Microsoft products – Office/Office 365, Skype for Business, Teams, etc., Google G Suite, Slack, etc.) and understanding of how they can be leveraged for improving collaborative team work
