PayPal Cloud Infrastructure Engineering Team is looking for an experienced DevOps professional to join our growing organization to support development of infrastructure of code and processes. This position requires a keen attention to detail, problem-solving capabilities and solid knowledge base of compute hardware SKUs and operating systems. The individual will be working with a team of engineers focused on software development in SKU lifecycle management, CI/CD of OS image automation, repository management, integrity testing and configuration management. The position includes engineering, software development and L2/L3 support of production services

Job Description

5+ years experience working in a large-scale production environment

- Design, build, deployment of configuration management capabilities

- Test implemented designs and system integrity

- Build and test automation tools for infrastructure provisioning

- Brainstorm for new ideas and ways to improvement development delivery

- Consult with peers for feedback during testing stages

- Build, maintain, and monitor configuration standards

- Maintain day-to-day management and administration of projects

- Manage CI and CD tools with team

- Document and design various processes; update existing processes

- Follow and contribute to all best practices and procedures established by the team

- Strong communication and documentation skills

Job Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in CS, engineering, software engineering, or related field

- Two years previous experience in development and operations, or related IT, computer, or operations field

- Previous experience with software development, infrastructure development, or development and operations

- Experience with Linux infrastructures, database SQL (MS SQL), CI/CD tools (Jenkins), scripting (emphasis on Python, Ruby, and Bash)

- Experience with image building tools (Packer and Vagrant)

- Experience with various cloud infrastructures (OpenStack and GCP)

- Experience with configuration management tools (Puppet)

- Knowledge of Scrum/Kanban, Agile workflow methodologies

- Up-to-date on latest industry trends; able to articulate trends and potential clearly and confidently

- Good interpersonal skills and communication with all levels of management

- Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
