The Business Operations Analyst Internship will be based in Milan and will report to the Manager of Business Operations, Western Europe. The WE Business Operations team combines analytical, reporting, internal consulting and executional skills to support the WE Managing Director and market leads in managing the WE franchise. The team members leverage their skills across a broad range of operational topics, regional/global initiatives in different parts of the business, but always with the aim of driving the growth of PayPal WE. These activities include executive reporting, pipeline management, performance management, business case modelling, internal consulting, leading strategic initiatives, new products or business lines launching support and project/programme management.

This internship will be a critical support to the WE Business Operation team on the daily activities, e.g. pipeline management, performance management, internal consulting. Besides, the intern will support the WE management team on valuable analytical insights, e.g. competition landscape, high risk verticals etc., operational execution and initiative coordination to assure the sales activities seamlessly spreading across the region to attain target achievements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with country sales leads on monthly pipeline data update, support and assure sales team to deliver pipeline records at good quality on a monthly basis
  • Monthly pipeline analysis and performance management, including creating and improving monthly reporting format, building the sales cycle story across the region, and highlighting pipeline key achievements/holdouts and providing operational recommendations
  • Support to design and/or improve processes and channels to communicate business performance; support the communications with the WE leadership team on business updates and milestones
  • Collaborate with global stakeholders, e.g. finance, sales operation, pricing, sales transformation, on various topics, such as new product upsell campaign, checkout parity programme, sales enablement design, operational optimization etc.
  • Align with sales leads to attain key inputs and asks to the regional initiative, and consolidate the key inputs and asks to link to the regional initiatives
  • Support on executive reporting to the WE leadership team and build the regional sales story of the region
  • Participate in other key commercial growth initiatives


  • Energetic and positive, hungry to learn and challenge, creative, reliable, results focused with a can-do attitude
  • Interested in the operational, marketing and financial aspects of businesses in general
  • Strong in analytics and problem solving. Experienced/comfortable with data mining and analytical tools. Proficient with SQL is a plus
  • Good communication skills and ability to work and collaborate cross-functionally with external and internal teams including Finance, Sales, Legal, Risk, Pricing and Sales Operations
  • Highly organized, attention to detail and follow-through. Should enjoy problem solving, fixing processes
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills. Proficiency in MS Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and excellent in MS Excel, especially in dealing large data set

To be considered you must:

  • Master degree in business, economics or data science at leading University, or equivalent
  • English proficiency
  • Be available for a 6-month internship starting as soon as possible.
