A typical day for the Business Financing Solutions Intern will include: The PayPal Business Financing Solutions team deliver funding to support SMB merchants in the UK and around the world. Through our award winning PayPal Working Capital product, we issue hundreds of millions in funding to tens of thousands of merchants in the UK every year. We are looking for someone analytical, energetic and intellectually curious to join the team for a twelve-month internship. You will have the opportunity to help us in developing strategic and tactical initiatives, deliver actionable business and customer insights, and be a key contributor in projects that directly support the needs of small businesses throughout the UK. As a member of high performing cross-functional team, you will have the opportunity to work with and learn from a wide range of disciplines including, Product Development, Technology, Marketing, Analytics and Legal. What does Success Look Like? • Coordinate and drive gathering of requirements for product & commercial initiatives, and align with cross-functional teams to ensure delivery • Perform deep dives on strategic topics and deliver insights and recommendations • Support development of business reviews for senior management audiences • Conduct commercial analysis on a range business opportunities • Deliver competitor analysis and insights • Help drive cross functional projects

About You:

  • Show high energy and enthusiasm to achieve results and learn about the small business lending market
  • Demonstrate a high level of analytical and strategic rigor in formulating insights, objectives, strategies and metrics
  • Have the ability to articulate complex ideas simply and summarise them effectively
  • Possess strong writing and presentation skills
  • Have the capability to work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team environment
  • Commercial strategy experience within Financial Services is advantageous, but not essential

You Must Also Have:

  • Pursuing BS, BA or MS degrees with expected / achieved grade of at least a 2:1 (or equivalent).
  • Be available for a 12 months internship starting June – July 2018
