The Busines / Financial Analyst will be a key part of the DEATCH Finance team. This varied and challenging role will include financial planning, forecasting, budgeting, and deep financial analysis with a strong business and collaboration focus.

Beyond a strong financial analysis background, we are in search of a self-starter, who has an inquiring mind, a proactive nature, commercial acumen and a fascination for discovering insights from consumer and merchant activity.

Core responsibilities:

In order to develop actionable insights the individual will need to work with product, risk, operations, sales, relationship management and finance teams to determine the key metrics, but also to outline proposals for improvement.

The ideal candidate will be able to do more than merely report on the metrics and create power point presentation. They will be able to prioritize and influence the organization to implement the various initiatives by collaborating supporting Team, Senior Managers, Directors.

The role will require that the individual:
• Build frameworks (models and reports) to analyse performance of the business, identify and commercialize opportunities.
• Develop insights based on quantitative and qualitative research, and collaborating with the business units to outline strategic, pricing, and tactical recommendations.
• Provide finance forecast and budget support to the finance team in terms of managing financials.
• Support improvements to processes and systems to streamline efficiency
• Track the performance of our merchant portfolio and work pro-actively with the relationship managers to understand trends and up-sell opportunities.
• Build, manage and review business cases and quantify the impact of the various sales relationship management initiatives and report on these to the Organization.

This is position requiring close interaction with our merchant services business unit including sales and relationship management teams, as well as the management team and the wider EMEA finance teams.

Education required:


• Business, Finance, or Economics degree or equivalent academic qualification.

• CIMA/ACA is preferred, but not essential.

• MBA disciplined may be an advantage, but not a requirement.



Experience required:


• Ideally 2-4 years experience with progression within finance or FP&A roles, in an e-commerce or highly transactional / payments environment ideally. 

• Strong analytical experience with a financial bias, acquired in a role such as a Financial Analyst or Financial Planning Analyst.

• eCommerce or payments industry experience may be an advantage but not essential.


Skills & Abilities required:

• Fluent oral English and German, written German and other oral languages could be an advantage.

• Analytical - Thorough understanding and experience with customer data, excellent excel skills (including pivot tables, functions, macros, charts).

• Strong mathematics and statistics knowledge.

• Demonstrated ability to interpret data and offer insight and recommendations into business opportunities.

• Ability to proactively identify and develop insights which would be valuable to support the decision making for our merchant portfolio.

• Effective time-management and prioritization skills to manage workload.

• Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills, ability to build relationships internally and externally, interfacing at all levels.

• Thrives in an environment of continuous change and complexity.

• Results oriented, team player, fun, energetic personality, works well under pressure.

• Must be eager to learn, contribute and share knowledge – internally and externally.

• Team focused and someone who relishes challenges and has a thirst to contribute.

Knowledge required:

• Financial practices and financial analytics are essential to the role, including GAP analysis and ability to analyse data to spot key insights

• Knowledge and expertise of SQL programming and Essbase is highly desirable

• High level Microsoft office Excel and powerpoint
