PayPal is seeking an RPA Business Analyst to join its Finance Automation Program. The Business Analyst will work closely with Finance, Technology and Compliance teams to implement and support process automations using the Blue Prism Robotic Process Automation software and other automation technologies.

This position will provide business process transformation services for key automation initiatives within Finance.  This includes leading the definition of to-be processes and business requirements and oversight of process implementation developing the business requirements for the automation.  This position will also lead issue investigation and resolution to support automations that have been implemented.  The successful candidate will be highly analytical with good attention to detail, possess excellent oral and written communication skills and be a collaborative team member.


  • Collaborating with business stakeholders to identify processes that are suitable for automation, and assisting in determination of recommended orchestration and automation solutions
  • Analyzing ‘as-is’ processes to understand process steps, interdependencies, and applications used to complete transactions and provide recommendations to reengineer processes to improve automation potential
  • Leading of business process mapping for automation projects, including identification of change impacts and needed business controls
  • Support and/or participate in project planning and communication for RPA initiatives
  • Managing enhancement requests for implemented automations (e.g., analyze, design and test activities) in conjunction with the technical support resources
  • Problem-solving functional issues that arise in day-to-day running (“run the business”) of implemented automations (Blue Prism) and providing timely responses, solutions and resolutions as required using a structured IT change control process
  • Support and enhance organizational initiatives by positively influencing and supporting change management (e.g. communications, stakeholder management, training, etc.)


  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Accounting or Information Technology
  • 5+ years of experience in business-facing IT role, or in finance/accounting role
  • Experience with business process re-engineering of financial processes using Blue Prism
  • Experience in leading team efforts software development life cycle (e.g., requirements gathering, build, test, go-live, support)
  • Experience with organizational change management activities (e.g., communications, stakeholder impacts, training, etc.) preferred
  • Experience with operational support of functional processes in a “run the business” capacity preferred
  • Affinity for designing future-state processes and solutions that will be transformative in nature and consider the viability for orchestration and automation through technologies
  • Analytical skills necessary to make solid decisions: define problem or process improvement opportunity, identify and analyze options, propose solution
  • Team oriented individual and self-starter who excels at learning new processes and business functions
  • Affinity for a high-performance, project-oriented work environment; ability to pivot to critical path tasks as necessary
  • Strong organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize multiple concurrent tasks
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to influence at all levels and build collaborative relationships
  • Ability to work with process modeling tools such as IBM BlueWorks Live, Visio, etc.
  • ERP and financial systems exposure; SAP preferred
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
