As a Policy Manager in Brand Risk Management, your goal is to ensure that the PayPal system's activity is compliant with PayPal's Acceptable Use Policy and help define and enforce PayPal's Reputational Risk framework.  Additionally, PayPal's adherence to our Ethics and Compliance Standards and obligations to the appropriate regulations.

You will develop cross-functional collaboration skills by working with Investigators, Data Scientists, Product Developers and the PayPal Cause team focused on developing risk and compliance frameworks for all of the PayPal's various fundraising products and services including PayPal's expansion into crowdfunding offerings.   

Assist in assuring that PayPal's expanding suite of products and services develop and implement the proper framework to detect and prevent impermissible activity across multiple platforms and ensure that all activity falls within PayPal's Acceptable Use Policy framework, and maintains compliance with payment network guidelines and requirements. This role will also be tasked with working with Analytics, Investigations and Product Development to develop and maintain a program designed to permit PayPal to enforce applicable contractual obligations upon violators of PayPal's Acceptable Use Policy. Lastly, you will be asked to routinely present to senior members within Risk and Platforms.

As a Brand Risk Management Policy Manager, it will be critical for you to stay current with public policy changes and industry trends, seek ways to enhance current processes and controls, and always maintain the utmost professionalism in your interaction with our customers and business partners.

As a Policy Manager, your responsibilities include:

  • Developing and maintaining framework and process permitting PayPal to enforce contractual obligation upon violators of PayPal's Acceptable Use Policy.
  • Implement risk and control strategies for PayPal's various crowdfunding and fundraising products and services.
  • Continually assess the changing reputational risks posed by external factors including regulatory, payment partners and evolving consumer/public sentiment.
  • Create and amend policies, strategies, and processes to support investigators and product developers and enable business growth while ensuring alignment with reputational, legal and processor risk appetites.
  • Facilitate collaboration on cross-functional matters with a BRM-component, including interaction with internal stakeholders such as Public Relations, Legal, Compliance/AML, Global Investigations, Analytics etc.
  • Manage relations with external parties, including rights holders, network payment partners, regulators, law enforcement agencies, and industry partners.
  • Lead strategically important projects as agreed upon by senior management.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Legal, Criminal Justice or a comparable field or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum of 7 years' experience conducting research and investigations related to Fraud, Anti-Money Laundering, Customer/Enhanced Due Diligence investigation or verifications
  • Proven ability to analyze large amounts of data to report critical information;
  • Exceptional oral, written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to communicate complex information accurately, clearly and quickly to all levels
  • Ability to work efficiently with attention to detail in investigations, analysis, and writing
  • High level of professionalism, self-motivation and sense of urgency
  • Experience with Card Network requirements a plus
