The Global Brand Marketing team is on the hunt for a Marketing Specialist to help drive global marketing strategy for our consumer segment. You will play a central role with the Product Marketing, Go-To-Market and Integrated Marketing teams to craft the PayPal story for consumers. You will help define the value proposition by segment to drive a stronger connection with the brand and drive overall marketing excellence. 


The right person for this role will have a exceedingly sharp, strategic mind. What You’ll Do at PayPal:

  • Develop the customer narrative around how our consumer products help to tell our brand story.
  • Define the value proposition for our global consumer segments.
  • Strategically position our new consumer products in the context of the competitive market landscape.
  • Work closely with our merchant marketing strategist to find opportunities to connect the two sides of our PayPal network.
  • Behave as a true consumer champion and leverage customer insights to be the voice of the consumer.
  • Work with global product marketing and go-to-market teams to align on consumer strategy and input into the product launch and planning process. 
  • Collaborate with our Integrated Marketing team to input into creative briefs and ensure creative work is on strategy.
  • Build strong partnerships with cross-functional teams that include Product, Regional Marketing, Research and Insights, Experience Design, Engineering and external partner teams to identify opportunities, ensure alignment and buy-in across organization. 
  • Stay on top of category shifts and emerging markets trends and competitive intelligence to inform our brand marketing strategy.
  • Be accountable for meeting multiple tight deadlines, with ability to react to immediate company and project needs. 
  • Apply great attention to detail with top-notch presentation, written and verbal communications skills. 

What Will Make You Successful:

  • Experience – 2-4 years brand marketing experience. Previous experience in the tech industry, payments industry, or agency planning experience is a plus. Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Strategic Mind - Demonstrated ability to solve a range of challenges via strategic, analytical and creative problem solving. Ability to take multiple complex ideas and combine them into a cohesive compelling story.
  • Customer-Centric - A customer-first mindset. The ability to put yourself in customer’s shoes to ensure we live our brand purpose and display empathy for the customer when developing marketing plans and campaigns. 
  • Collaborative – Demonstrated ability to work across a matrixed organization and have experience managing multiple stakeholders across multiple levels and functions.
  • Self-Starter – A creative problem solver with an innovative mindset and a scrappy determination to do more with less. We are a small but growing team, so you’ll need to be prepared to step out of your defined role from time to time.
