Here at PayPal Identity Mobile team we build pluggable, reusable, and extensible authentication and authorization experience platform that enable secure, convenient and consistent access to 73+ PayPal product channels on iOS, Android and Web platforms, for approximately 227 million active customer accounts across more than 200 markets. Identity and related experiences are central and key to making $7.6 Billion payment transactions and $451 Billion total payment volume (as per 2017 records) a reality.

As a mobile Android/iOS software developer in Identity team, you will be working with various feature domain and external partners in creating the next generation identity experiences and building world class payments and money management integration solutions. Our engineers solve some of the most complex technical problems in the world of payments across all business units. We are looking for the highest levels of technical talent and programming skills, as well as a keen desire to deeply understand our products and services to push our technology forward with respect to functionality, performance, reliability, and scalability. You will have the opportunity to work across platforms, be it Android, iOS, Services, or Web applications as we bring solutions to our customers.

A peek on our day to day responsibilities:

  • Work with product owner in understanding product requirements
  • Collaborate in identifying technical gaps and dependencies of the requirements
  • Planning and breaking requirements to smaller task to delegate, coordinate, and estimate effort
  • Design, document, and present solution and implementation
  • Implement and deliver requirements to production with quality including test automation and monitoring
  • Involved in code review lifecycle and quality discussions
  • Support integration, inner-source implementation, releases, and production features
  • Have fun as a team (yes, this is important)

Skills that you will bring to the team:

  • BS/BA or equivalent with 5+ years professional software development experience
  • Strong object-oriented skills including design, coding and testing patterns
  • Experience in designing, developing and delivering software and/or platforms used by other developers (libraries)
  • Strong iOS and/or Android development experience (Java, Objective-C, Swift, Flutter)
  • Have released Android/iOS app
  • Good understanding of Web services and SOA related standards like REST/JSON.
  • Familiar and comfortable with Android/iOS/Web technologies, the trade offs, and the design patterns emerging
  • Proven problem-solver and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to operate effectively both independently as well and within a team using Agile methodology.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Sharp learning curve and open to learn/work in new technologies/platforms.

Skills that are big pluses:

  • Experience in Identity technologies and protocols such as OAUTH, FIDO, OpenID, etc
  • Android/iOS library release management and distribution
  • Experience putting continuous integration and automation infrastructure for Android/iOS
  • Own GitHub code samples in Android or iOS
  • Experience integration, development, and maintenance of push notification functionality in Android/iOS
  • Android/iOS View lifecycle management
  • Have worked on persistent storage (secure and unsecure) in Android/iOS
