The PayPal Credit Analytics Team is a lean team responsible for uncovering trends and insights to propel PayPal Credit forward across all analytical functional areas: marketing analytics, consumer analytics, merchant analytics, and product analytics. We're looking for an analyst that goes above and beyond simply providing reports and analyses. This person will generate insights by conducting extensive analyses of PayPal’s rich data. In the process, this person will develop a deep understanding of the payments businesses, our site functionality, further strengthen their analytic, leadership, and presentation skills, and gain exposure to a wide variety of functional teams within PayPal.

  • You are a highly motivated, result-oriented self-starter, enjoy working in a fast-pace environment, and can deliver successful results with minimal guidance
  • You enjoy digging into data and uncover insights, provide data-driven recommendations to your stakeholders
  • Job responsibilities:

  • Apply your expertise in quantitative analysis, data mining, and the presentation of data to see beyond the numbers and understand how our users interact with both our consumer and merchant products
  • Work cross-functionally with product, engineering, and user experience design teams to design hypothesis-driven experiments; make clear, coherent and holistic recommendations based on test results
  • Monitoring key product metrics, understanding root causes of changes in metrics
  • Communicating state of business, experiment results, etc. to product teams
  • Drive data logging requirements to measure KPI’s by engaging with analysts, business stakeholders, data architects, technology leads, and product development teams
  • Building and analyzing dashboards and reports
  • Building key data sets to empower operational and exploratory analysis
  • Automating analyses and authoring pipelines via SQL / Python based ETL framework
  • Support multiple projects at the same time in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment
  • Requirements

  • Degree in Math, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, or other quantitative fields
  • 4-6 years of relevant work experience in analyzing large, multi-dimensional data sets and synthesizing data insights into actionable recommendations
  • Fluency in data querying languages (e.g. SQL), scripting languages (e.g. Python), or statistical/mathematical software (e.g. R, SAS, Matlab)
  • Solid understanding of statistical analysis, experimentation (i.e. A/B testing) in an industry setting
  • Prior work experience with consulting, financial or product-based companies is highly valued
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to influence stakeholders
