In this position, you will play a major role in providing Anti-Money Laundering (AML) policy advisory, guidance, and direction to business units, operational support areas, and product areas that are critical to the effectiveness of PayPal’s world-class, global financial crime compliance program. You will be instrumental in preventing the exploitation of PayPal’s services for illicit purposes and ensuring compliance with complex financial industry legal requirements in areas such as anti-money laundering, counter terrorist financing (CTF), financial intelligence, and suspicious activity/matter reporting (SAR/SMR).

You will draw on your education and compliance experience to help ensure adherence with PayPal policies, as well as global compliance expectations throughout PayPal’s footprint. In this role you will work with business, technology, and compliance professionals to support and execute PayPal’s objectives in financial crime detection and prevention. You will be responsible for providing AML advisory to the global consumer credit and business financing solutions businesses, and for assisting with the integration of new ventures, products, and opportunities.

You will work in close collaboration with multiple areas of the company across PayPal’s global footprint. This role will report into a Sr. Manager and will require a candidate that can work well as a team and as a sole-contributor to address specific needs of the AML program and of our business areas. You will be engaged in:
• Reviewing and updating AML policies, procedures, and other governance documentation
• Providing AML advisory to various areas of the company including product, technology, and operational support areas
• Staying apprised of AML regulatory changes globally to assist in determining impacts to PayPal and driving program changes
• Participating in AML audits, exams, and projects with impeccable quality and timeliness
• Providing clear and succinct communication both verbally and in writing to all levels of management and staff

Requirements:

  • 2-3 years of AML/BSA experience in a policy/advisory capacity, providing guidance on satisfying regulatory requirements and adhering with applicable policies
  • Bachelor’s degree required; JD preferred (if JD, can have fewer years of experience)
  • Substantive knowledge of legal, policy, and/or operational aspects of financial crime compliance programs (e.g., AML/CTF, CDD, SARs, sanctions/OFAC, AB&C, and/or financial crime investigations)
