The Accounting Manager collaborates with various partners to ensure that month-end processes and accounting systems are designed and implemented in accordance with the accounting and reporting requirements of the department. They support a business critical unit, acting as the subject matter expert, supporting new business initiatives and driving operational accounting process improvement.

• Strive to leverage accounting and process knowledge to contribute meaningfully to a winning organization

• Work in a cross-functional and collaborative role; support new business initiatives by identification of accounting requirements and ensure implementation of financial controls and process and system solutions

• Direct accounting and reporting system related projects from a business owner perspective, including concept development, requirement identification, user testing, and production implementation from a process and operational standpoint

• Conduct on-going reviews of company accounting processes to identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives that drive efficiencies by optimizing existing processes and improve automation through better utilization of SAP and reporting tools such as MicroStrategy.

• Support month-end close by performing and validating accruals, preparing and reviewing complex account reconciliations and reserve models, and conducting fluctuation analyses

• Partner with Finance and BU teams to identify opportunities to enhance upstream data collection to improve downstream reporting and metrics

• Determine SOX implications of new business initiatives, modify and implement controls as appropriate, and conduct accounting process reviews with internal and external auditors

Job Requirements

• Strong background in accounting or finance, business processes and internal control evaluation

• Strong knowledge of GAAP, SOX, and standard accounting processes and controls

• 6+ years of professional experience,

• Demonstrate substantial knowledge of operational accounting processes and systems.  ERP experience required, SAP is preferred 

• Public Accounting experience is desirable

• University degree in Accounting or Finance

• CPA a plus

• Fluent in English and Spanish required; Portuguese a big plus.

• Experience in country strategies development and execution, start up, joint venture, ombudsman, P&L management, tax planning, internal controls, budget, forecast, processes improvement and key project management.

• Ability to design and implement processes in support of new business or governance initiatives and experience leading operational and process change with a drive towards world class controlling processes and controls
