We have an exciting opportunity in our Vancouver office for an Accountant to join our growing team.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews accounts payable
  • Assist in preparation of consolidated monthly/quarterly/annual financial statements in accordance with US GAAP;
  • Prepares and closes international subsidiary month end books
  • Assist in the company’s day-to-day accounting operations:
  • Ensures compliance with US GAAP, internal control, accounting system and policies;
  • Works with external accountants/consultants/auditors and CRA;
  • Participates in projects with senior management and provides meaningful analysis/answers to any accounting/financial questions from both internal and external parties; 
  • Participates (and possibly oversees) the operational reconciliation process.
  • Assists in month end closing process
  • Research and documents complex accounting issues and procedures
  • Documents company’s internal controls relating to accounting processes and recommendations for improvement;
  • Prepares working papers for quarterly and annual financial statements (annual financial audit);
  • Reviews Company’s GST/PST obligations and obtain rulings from CRA on GST/PST treatment where necessary (experience is a must)
  • Works with the Controller to ensure compliance with various tax regulators;
  • Performs other duties as required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration with an accounting designation is preferred
  • 5+ years of corporate accounting experience
  • Experience with US GAAP and consolidation
  • Knowledge and experience with FX currency conversions
  • Experience with calculating SRED is an asset
  • Expert user of excel, advanced level for power point, word
  • Detailed-oriented, strong analytical skills and a team player
  • Experience in financial or payments industry an asset
  • Excellent communication and quantitative skills
