Quality Engineer: As part of the Quality Engineering team, this role will help own the quality, live health, and bug fixing process for backend and client development. Having a strong passion for user-centered design, this role will help delight our customers by driving testing best practices across the engineering organization, ensuring we are covering testing of all functional aspects as well as availability, scalability, and performance. Deep, practical experience in testing and maintaining internet-scale applications and services is required.

The Android Automation Engineer will build highly robust, reliable and fast automated tests for Venmo’s Android App leveraging Java, Kotlin and the Espresso automation framework. .

Responsibilities:

  • Write automated tests using Kotlin, Java and Espresso for Venmo’s Android App. .

  • Define, program, update and troubleshoot automated tests.

  • Work alongside other engineers at Venmo to help drive and improve the quality of our tests and product so our customers have the best experience possible.

  • Partner with product and infrastructure engineers to understand Venmo domains and architecture to write the best tests that fit within Venmo’s CI/CD system.

Basic Qualifications:

  • BA/BS Degree in Computer Science, related technical discipline, or relevant practical experience.

  • 4+ years experience programming experience in Java and Kotlin.

  • Experience with Espresso or other mobile automation frameworks. .

  • Experience in designing and building automated tests leveraging Cloud infrastructure and Continuous Delivery systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • BS + 5 years of relevant work experience, MS + 3 years of relevant work experience, or PhD + 2 years of relevant work experience.

  • Experience in test frameworks design, development, and related solutions.

  • Experience with build tools such as Maven or Gradle.

  • Technical knowledge and experience with mobile application development.

  • Strong object-oriented skills including design, coding, and testing patterns
