As the Head of PayPal.com Content and a key member of the PayPal.com User Experience team, you’ll provide strategic direction, editorial oversight, and inspiration for a high-performing team of web writers who work side-by-side with designers, engineers, and product owners to deliver these critical experiences. You have a deep understanding of content as a business asset. You know how to deliver content that results in sign-up and lead-generation conversion events for prospects and customers and have a strong grasp of how to craft narratives to drive engagement and retention.

Deep customer empathy, the ability to scale and think globally, and senior stakeholder management are also keys to succeeding in this role, along with the ability to analyze data and define narratives, then build and tell compelling business stories.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years managing and developing writers and content strategists working on cross functional teams in matrixed and/or global organizations.
  • A track record of building and transforming relationships with customers through skillfully crafted narratives.
  • Strong execution skills to deliver excellent work on challenging timelines.
  • Deep understanding of what makes a great customer experience on web and mobile.
  • Skillset to drive content performance and identify opportunities for continuous improvement by assessing performance data, customer research and feedback, market trends.
  • A history of knocking down organizational obstacles and building sustaining frameworks and partnerships.
  • Experience with e-commerce or financial technology industry a strong bonus 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and grow a team of Content Designers including line management, performance management, and professional development.
  • Drive the definition of a clear and actionable strategic direction for content on PayPal.com.
  • Inspire the writers on your team to deliver against the strategy and to PayPal standards.
  • Use data and research to measure the effectiveness and of the content strategy and pivot as needed in real time.
  • Coordinate content with Brand, Marketing and Operations teams to ensure we create a consistent end-to-end experience.
  • Be an arbiter of best practices in grammar, messaging, terminology, writing, and style.
