PayPal is looking to add a talented, smart, and engaged Infrastructure Security Engineer to the Infrastructure Engineering and Operations team.
Responsibilities: Design, implement, and monitor security measures for the protection of Infrastructure Systems and Services which include: Cloud Computing Environment, Virtualized Wintel/Solaris/Linux Environments, and foundational core services like AD, DNS, IPAM etc. This position will collaborate with our Information Security, Architecture team and other stakeholders to: Identify, define, and implement system security requirements that will support our operational model. Responsibility also includes developing technical solutions and recommending new security tools to help mitigate security vulnerabilities and automate repeatable tasks. This will enable the company to be in the best position to establish defensive measures to protect our infrastructure environments and services.

Role Description

The role is critical to Supporting PayPal infrastructure patching and vulnerability management resiliency by managing the full lifecycle of discovered vulnerabilities and ensuring remediation within SLA.


Role Responsibilities

Responsible for understanding, reviewing, and interpreting scan and assessment results.

Advise prioritization of patch deployment and provide guidance on vulnerability root cause.

Collaborate with disparate teams to create both tactical and strategic plans for improving the Vulnerability and Patch Management Programs.

Provide technical authority, vision, documentation of operational procedures and guidance for reducing patch cycle time and decreasing exploitable operational space.

Develop scripting solutions for automated filtering & collating of large datasets.


Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree

Experience with vulnerability management, patch management & devops frameworks

Mining security event log data and translating to actionable remediation

Coding skills to maximize efficiency

Understanding information security principles and practices.

  • 6+ years overall Infrastructure Security experience
  • 4+ years’ experience in vulnerability management
  • 2+ years’ hands on experience data crunching with tools similar to Python, Julia, Hadoop
