The Role

As the Consumer Acquisition Marketing Lead at Venmo, you’ll be responsible for leading acquisition and growth across the business, including Venmo’s end-to-end consumer marketing strategy to deliver against our revenue goals. You’ll define innovative marketing strategies across all channels – paid media, brand activations, lifecycle marketing, and partnerships – to drive new user demand, acquisition, and monthly active users. You’ll bring creative, breakthrough marketing ideas to the table, with an extensive analytic and data-driven approach to planning and prioritization. This role offers an unprecedented opportunity to impact Venmo’s immediate and long-term success, and to help define the future vision of the Venmo brand. Success will be defined by the delivery of customer outcomes including new customer acquisition, growing the customer value of our engaged customer base, and growing the brand equity, momentum, and differentiation for Venmo.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead and manage execution of integrated cross-channel marketing strategy to drive new user acquisition and engagement across all marketing touchpoints such as Venmo.com, email marketing, paid media, influencers, social, etc

  • Define target market, segments, addressable audience and target penetration

  • Define goals for awareness, acquisition, trial and habituation, collaborating closely with Finance and Commercial teams to ensure we are hitting targets. Strong analytics and modelling experience is a must

  • Manage budget and analytics framework to ensure marketing efficiency, marketing ROI and incremental value

  • Collaborate closely with the product team to shape the product and growth engineering roadmap to increase Venmo network effects and conversion

  • Lead content strategy for consumer acquisition, partnering with content and design teams to bring breakthrough creative and storytelling to market across our owned, earned and paid channels

  • Launch new, innovative growth channels, including influencer marketing, givewaways, partnerships, ambassador programs, etc

  • Direct and manage cross-functional teams (internal and agency) to deliver seamless execution across channels and touchpoints. Strong project management, communication and leadership skills is a must



Requisite Experience

  • Senior Marketing Leader 10+ years experience, 5+ experience in leadership role

  • Strong leadership skills with a proven ability to influence teams and individuals; Ability to lead multi-stakeholder groups and effectively utilize resources and relationships to drive results

  • Experience running high-profile campaigns across a diverse range of channels, and within a rapidly evolving business environment – you have implemented game changing ideas that have changed the course of businesses and brands

  • Strong analytical thinker with proven ability to translate data into creative, results-oriented marketing strategies

  • Outstanding Communications: can partner, influence and thrive in a global matrixed organization with an ability to present to stakeholders with gravitas and confidence

  • Commercial Owner experience in budget and P&L accountabilities, linkage of investment to growth strategies

  • Customer Champion with demonstrated track record in designing marketing solutions with customer at center

  • Proven team transformation experience in hiring, retaining and coaching a team for peak performance

  • Brand transformation track record in the creation, transformation of a beloved global/regional brand

  • Payments, Retail and In Store experience highly valued

  • Strong sense of ownership and an entrepreneurial spirit

  • Demonstrated empathetic, collaborative, and flexible working style in high-pressure, fast-paced, and rapidly changing environment
