PayPal Giving Fund UK harnesses the power of technology to make giving a part of everyday life, benefitting charities across the UK. We are seeking a senior leader (Chief Finance Officer, Finance Director) with experience in large and small charities to join the board of PayPal Giving Fund UK as a trustee.


  • Join, and potentially in future lead or chair, our audit committee to oversee the charity’s audit, and liaise with the charity’s auditors,
  • Advise the board on best practice in financial management in charities,
  • Keep the board appraised of important developments in charity regulation and compliance, and
  • Mentor and support other trustees and the CEO in leading and holding to account the organization’s finance function.

Job requirements:

  • Experience of reporting to, and serving on, a charity board in the UK.
  • Professional accounting qualification e.g. CIMA, ACCA, ACA, with a range of experience in charities and commercial businesses.
  • Experience leading audits for UK charitable organisations.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage with stakeholders in a complex context.
  • Familiarity with current charity sector issues and developments, including in fundraising.
  • Experience of liaising with the Charity Commission, HMRC and other UK charity regulators.
  • Familiarity with the points of tax law affecting charitable donations and accounting.
