PayPal is seeking a Technology Issues Analyst to ensure the effectiveness of technology and information security controls by working with control owners to implement and/or remediate technology and information security controls that go above and beyond PayPal standards and regulatory requirements. Team members will partner with IT and security technical staff and internal risk and compliance teams.

This role will ensure the effectiveness of technology and information security controls by working with control owners to implement and/or remediate technology and information security controls that go above and beyond PayPal standards and regulatory requirements. Team members will partner with IT and security technical staff and internal risk and compliance teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in establishing and operationalizing an optimized technology and information security Issue Management program
  • Identify, document, and drive remediation of technology and information security issues
  • Provide support as a key contact for issue management across PayPal business units
  • Collaborate with business partners, source system liaisons, technology partners, and information security subject matter experts across first and second lines of defense to identify, mitigate, and remediate technology and information security issues
  • Develop metrics and reporting capabilities to track issues
  • Develop and evolve issue intake, reporting, monitoring, and validation capabilities through automation
  • Advise IT and business executives on the status of current open/pending technology and information security issues
  • Assist in company-wide technology and information security initiatives

Qualifications:

  • Strong foundation in core technology and information security principles and concepts such as infrastructure hardening, access/identity, Data Loss Prevention, endpoint security, vulnerability management, network security, application security and others.
  • Experience of enterprise risk management, project management, and/or process engineering
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced, changing, and vague environment and able to handle a number of simultaneous projects and tasks while demonstrating urgency and ownership to drive to quality outcomes.
  • Excellent writing and verbal communication skills, interpersonal and presentation skills and the proven ability to influence and communicate effectively.
  • Ability to explain complex technology and security topics in simple terms
  • Experience with data reporting and visualization with Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, or similar data visualization tools 
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university Computer Science, (Information Technology, Information Assurance, Cyber Security or related disciplines preferred) or equivalent experience.

Desired:

  • Possession of any of the following certifications or similar is highly desired: CISSP, CISA, CISM, or GIAC.
  • Experience in implementing and/or testing technology and/or security controls (e.g. control testing, penetration testing, infrastructure engineering etc.) a plus
