PayPal is looking for technical writers who can join the technical publication team in Hyderabad. As part of this team, you will be working closely with cross-functional teams and producing high-quality technical documentation for our products.

PayPal is looking for technical writers who can join the technical publication team in Hyderabad. As part of this team, you will be working closely with cross-functional teams and producing high-quality technical documentation for our products.

Key responsibilities:

  • Produce user-focused documentation to make users easily understand the product functionality
  • Develop API documentation, installation, and getting started/onboarding guides to explain customers about the product installation and getting started process
  • Develop product walk-through and user-interface content such as field descriptions and tool tips
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams across different locations to understand the documentation requirements
  • Conduct interviews with SMEs, research and play around with products to understand the functionality
  • Analyze and estimate the work to produce deliverables on time without compromising the quality
  • Organize the content for different types of deliverables such as user guide, online help, installation guide, configuration guide, and so on
  • Work closely with the localization team to get the content translated into different languages and locales
  • Publish the deliverables in different formats such as online help, context sensitive help, and PDFs

Required skills:

  • 7-9 years of experience in developing user guides, installation & configuration guides, upgrade guides, release notes, and online help for software products
  • Excellent writing skills to describe every piece of the product in detail but maintain conciseness
  • Experience in documenting APIs and SDKs
  • Experience in developing content for different levels of audience
  • Ability to develop content from scratch even without any reference documents
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Experience in authoring and generating documentation deliverables using well-known authoring tools (preference: MadCap Flare)
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Style Guide for Technical Publications
  • Understanding of SDLC (Agile methodology) and DDLC
  • Possess interpersonal and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage assignments independently or with less supervision

Value-added skills:

  • Knowledge of API documentation tools. For example, Swagger
  • Experience authoring in Markdown
