PayPal Shopping Engineering is building solutions that help merchants understand their customers and personalize their shopping experience. Our product team is looking for a Senior Software Engineer with deep experience developing across the entire application stack who is passionate about code craftsmanship, continuous improvements, and agile development. You will be working on building the next generation PayPal merchants SDK to enable merchants to understand user behavior across the internet, gathering intelligence across millions of websites, empowering merchants to enhance user experience and value proposition by customizing offerings to users. What will you do?

  • You’ll have fun crafting performant SDKs across a variety of platforms that interact with massively distributed services.

  • You’ll be customer-focused, always thinking of ways to make it easier for merchants to integrate PayPal SDK into their applications without sacrificing performance.

  • You’ll develop automated tests and help the team achieve and maintain complete CI/CD while constantly building new features.

  • You’ll be part of a multi-functional software development team and provide input on enhancing platform architecture across the stack.

  • You’ll work in an agile, DevOps culture focusing on maintaining operational excellence while delivering with high velocity.

What do you need to succeed?

  • Experience building web applications, including Node.js application on top of RESTful APIs.

  • Experience building and deploying SDKs that interface with large-scale services and complex APIs

  • Strong understanding of web and browser technologies: HTTP/s, cookies, security, cross-site scripting, CDNs, serverless computing, DOM, rendering engines, browser storage, HTML, CSS.

  • Strong knowledge of networking principles, HTTP, REST, and other client/server technologies.

  • Familiarity with client-side frameworks and libraries like React, Angular, Backbone.

  • Excellent problem solving and debugging skills and direct experience with DevOps in a

    SaaS environment.
