The PayPal, Global Professional Services LATAM Solution Engineer provides detailed technical solution design and technical consulting to merchants and developers in their successful implementation of PayPal products to ensure merchants implement optimal integration strategies, techniques and best practices. Solution Engineers Identify and troubleshoot integration technical issues both internally and with external partners and may assist junior engineers in troubleshooting. They also Interface directly with customers and key internal stakeholders (Technology, Business, Partners and Product teams) to address specific integration projects requirements or new products features.

Job Description

• Lead solution exploration during pre-contractual stages of strategic partnerships with potential merchants and partners.

• Create innovative, customer driven Solution Proposals and Solution Designs utilizing PayPal’s various API products.

• Leverages customer relationship and time management skills to effectively work with multiple external customers concurrently.

• Identify any product/functionality gaps required to deliver a solution and collaborate with internal product and technology teams to define the necessary enhancements to support delivery.

•Identify any requirements and needs from the merchants to deliver a solution based on PayPal products.

• Become a recognized technical expert with the internal product set and in identifying potential solutions for new merchant relationships.

•Learn new products ad capabilities from very dynamic solutions in self learner environment.

• Collaborate with merchants to implement optimal integration strategies, techniques and user experience best practices.

• Work closely with internal teams including compliance, privacy, risk, information security, support, and operations to ensure all aspects of a proposal are addressed.

• Develop pitch-decks for the various products that PayPal has to offer.

• Develop Solution Design templates and help on the integrations that merchants required.

• Provide leadership within the team. Mentor junior engineers on solution related issues. Reviews solution design and vet solution proposals for technical viability.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent.

5+ years of experience with Internet and mobile technologies including Web Services, REST APIs, HTML/HTTP, iOS, Android and leading web and mobile application frameworks.

5+ years of experience with programming languages (JavaScript and PHP).

Recent experience with Node.js and Postman

Ability to successfully interact and dynamically adapt communication styles with all levels of client organizations (High level executives, middle management, technical and non-technical staff etc).

Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal in Spanish and English.

Preferred Experience

Master´s degree in computer science or equivalent.

3+ years of experience with one or more major programming languages (C++, Objective-C, C#, Java, Ruby, Perl, .NET or Python)

3+ years of experience with Payments (Credit Card, Banking, Online, Offline), especially with ecommerce systems, payments gateways and payment processors is highly valued.

3+ years of experience in Integration Engineering or Professional Services, preferably with large to enterprise-level companies engaged in ecommerce.

2+ years of experience with system discovery process, requirements gathering, systems architecture or development with shoping carts (Woocomerce, Magento, VTEX, PrestaShop,...).

Ability to translate requirements into detailed design and solution documents.

Ability to analyze strategic objectives and define specific tactical goals required to achieve them.
