Job Snapshot

Job Description

At PayPal (NASDAQ: PYPL), we believe that every person has the right to participate fully in the global economy. Our mission is to democratize financial services to ensure that everyone, regardless of background or economic standing, has access to affordable, convenient, and secure products and services to take control of their financial lives.

As the new digital economy comes into focus, PayPal is accelerating its efforts to shape the next generation of digital currencies and their corresponding financial infrastructure. A few months ago we enabled the ability to buy, hold and sell cryptocurrencies in the PayPal wallet, and this year, we will roll out cryptocurrencies as a funding instrument, so that consumers can use their crypto balances to fund their purchases at our millions of merchants globally. We’re also bringing cryptocurrency services to Venmo and select international markets in the first half of this year. As with all of PayPal’s services, we always want to provide our customers with great payment experiences, including enabling choice in the way they pay and get paid. What we are doing with cryptocurrencies and more broadly digital currencies is a natural extension of our broad portfolio of services. We’re building the infrastructure to allow consumers to pay with digital currencies on our platform regardless of what shape those take. We’re starting with cryptocurrencies since those are most widely discussed and available, but our goal is to be able to support Central Bank Digital Currencies (CBDCs) and other forms of digital money in compliance with existing regulations and in partnership with governments around the world. In support of our acceleration in digital currencies we recently created a new unit inside PayPal focused on blockchain, crypto and digital currencies. This new business unit will be responsible for building and managing a robust platform, technology infrastructure, partnerships, and regulatory foundations to support and grow our existing buy, sell, hold functionality, as well as to drive continued innovation in the space. Given our experience as a trusted digital payments company and our strong relationships with the broader regulatory and financial ecosystem, we believe that the combination of our blockchain, crypto and digital currencies team and our investments in technical and regulatory infrastructure will provide a strong foundational platform for our aspirations in this space. Our ultimate vision is to increase the access, ubiquity, and utility of digital assets to further define the future of commerce, financial inclusion and facilitate value exchange. PayPal’s Blockchain, Crypto and Digital Currencies (BCDC) business unit is focused on ensuring end-to-end management of PayPal’s underlying product, technology infrastructure, partnerships and regulatory foundations for digital assets to help enable our support of existing capabilities and markets, as well as drive continued growth in the space. As a Technical product manager in PayPal’s Blockchain, Crypto and Digital Currencies unit, you will help shape the foundation for the next generation of financial services. You will work with a globally distributed, diverse, cross-functional team to create a more accessible, efficient, and inclusive way to perform commerce. Your contribution will support PayPal’s existing cryptocurrency products, as well as drive innovation in digital assets.

  • Define and measure key performance indicators to evaluate and understand product value, work cross-functionally to ensure roadblocks are removed in a timely manner to ensure results.
  • Identify new opportunities based on research, industry trends and best practices, driving innovation.

  • Must have roughly 5 years of experience as a technical product manager or relevant experience in a customer facing role.
  • Demonstrated business acumen and product knowledge inside the payments ecosystem; familiarity with Cryptocurrency a must.
