PayPal’s Card Payments team is looking for an experienced Senior Technical Product Manager for managing smooth operations of its cards acquiring platform. In this role, you will sit at the intersection of technical teams within PayPal and its global processing partners, ensuring day-to-day health and stability of the card processing platform. The role involves collaborating with multiple internal and external stakeholders to deeply understand, tackle and resolve technical challenges/issues that come up. You will be part of the team that is critical to the entire lifecycle of money movement at PayPal. The Payments Product team at PayPal is responsible for building and managing the payments experiences, including core payment processing, for buyers and sellers around the world.

Job Description:

  • Own and manage product inquiries on breakages from internal and external partner teams, often requiring detailed investigation and technical assessment.
  • Drive issue and incident identification, business impact analysis and collaborate with wider team for resolution.
  • Engage with PayPal’s card processing partners to drive alignment on performance, troubleshoot and solve technical problems.
  • Partner with Product and Engineering teams to lead optimizations related to payment processing and cost.
  • Monitor processing partner platform and API performance, building dashboards, alerts and tools.
  • Design anomaly detection tools and systems to drive improvements in future card processing.
  • Identify and automate inefficient or unnecessary manual processes, working alongside payment platform engineers, external partner technical teams.
  • Collaborate across multiple stakeholders, including engineering, accounting, reconciliation, partnership and product.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of payments related experience. Card acquiring experience preferred.
  • Strong technical problem-solving skills, with an ability to develop a working understanding of payment platforms and processes.
  • Excellent communication skills, with an ability to frame messages appropriately for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Collaborative, able to efficiently work across multiple internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong execution skill and ability to diagnose issues and fix with a sense of urgency.
  • Results oriented, and able to quickly establish priorities and execute against hard deadlines.
  • Creativity, forward thinking approach (dashboards, documentation, tools).
