The infrastructure engineering team designs delivers and operates large-scale private and public cloud infrastructure for PayPal development and production environments. This is one of the largest hybrid cloud infrastructures in the world and runs on multiple technology stacks. Global Network Services team responsible for architecture, design, and develop a global site network to enable PayPal to serve customers in 200 countries across the globe. We are the team responsible to deliver a global network footprint to deliver uninterrupted services to our customers. As part of our next-generation network transformation journey, we are seeking a seasoned, passionate, and multifaced Network Operation Manager to join the Global Network Services team at PayPal. The role will require both managing a team of highly skilled network engineers and hands-on technical activities.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of talented netops engineers and provide technical guidance to the team in building Experience Centric Network Operation.
  • Establish best-practice methodologies based on KPIs for incident/change/problem management in a global, 24x7, high-volume, high-availability, production environment.
  • Lead crisis, escalations, and incident event management with a strong sense of extreme ownership be customer champions in enabling business outcomes.
  • Manage oversight of complex network operations processes based on a combination of vendors, custom solutions, and internal resources.
  • Lead network operations projects, including planning, implementation, maintenance, administration, staffing, and logistics.
  • Work closely with the rest of the network engineering teams to ensure network operations capabilities are capable of handling emerging and future business requirements.
  •  Conduct monthly and quarterly business reviews with vendors & third-party partners.
  • Assist in the development of a strategic roadmap to ensure network operations goals are met.
  • Participate in Hiring Process to hire and build/grow a team of netops engineers.
  • Provide various reporting for key availability and performance metrics.

Job Requirements

  • 10+ years of Network operation experience in managing global networks, preferable financial networks space.
  • 4+ years of experience in Network operation Manager role.
  • Should have strong experience in managing globally distributed teams in multiple time zones.
  • Deep working knowledge of networking technologies including Layer-2, Layer-3 protocols (xSTP, OSPF, BGP, VXLAN, ISIS, MPLS).
  • A solid understanding of networking and core Internet protocols (e.g. TCP/IP, DNS, SMTP, HTTP, and distributed networks).
  • Experience with Network Security, Firewalls, Load balancers.
  • Experience with white-box switches and network automation development
  • Expertise in network operations and troubleshooting methodologies
  • Experience with public cloud network enablement
  • Demonstrate understanding of various core networking products from industry players.
  • Having experience in deploying SD-WAN solutions is a plus
  • Having any networking vendors certifications like Cisco CCIE, Juniper JNCIS is a plus
  • Having knowledge of Software Define Networks concepts is a plus
  • Bachelor's in computer networks/Science or relevant technical field.
