The Omni Payments organization processes over 1 billion transactions per month on our payment platforms which supports PayPal, Braintree, Venmo, HyperWallet and more. We operate the world's best payments platform 24x7 that supports bank, card, tokenized, credit, reward, and PayPal balance transactions using a network of 40+ external real-time payment processing partners from around the world. We have an immediate need for a seasoned software engineer with extensive infrastructure expertise to support the world's best payments platform. You will be responsible for identifying and eliminating reliability weaknesses caused through our external partner integrations. You will work with our external payment partners, internal product, and engineering colleagues to strengthen our straight-through-processing capabilities and these outcomes will be measured in reduced P0/P1 incidents, less bugs, and fewer failed customer interactions. You will also be part of a leadership rotation providing 24x7 support. You will be required to work a regular rotation to provides on-call support for production issues. You will be required to work weekend/nights during this rotation and oversee engineering live support resources located in the US. You will groom the production backlog, oversee engineering capacity located in Scottsdale and San Jose, maximize developer velocity through daily stand-ups and other agile practices. These outcomes will be measured in reduced Open on Live bug counts. This position is based in Scottsdale, AZ

  • Define, design, and implement complex, multi-tier distributed software applications.
  • Segment and design system layers to support component-based layered application development, including business logic functionality and database/component repository access.
  • Work with other engineers, managers, Product Management, QA, and Operations teams to develop innovative solutions that meet market needs with respect to functionality, performance, scalability, reliability, realistic implementation schedules, and adherence to development goals and principles.
  • Be able to independently design, code and test complex features, as well as lead small project teams
  • Identify and make recommendations to reduce project risks.
  • Share release management duties on feature rollouts, share on-call responsibilities
  • Ability to lead project involving cross vertical integration
  • Ability to find and help fix performance, scalability, and other live issues in a very time critical environment
  • Ability to work well with team members to achieve end vision
