The Senior Manager, Application Development is responsible for the overall productivity and effectiveness of their team(s) and works closely with internal stakeholders to ensure that we are delivering experiences and solutions that our teammates love and want to work with. This role manages multiple teams that supports the global customer service organization to enable them to better serve our customers when they contact us.

This role manages multiple teams that supports the global customer service organization to enable them to better serve our customers when they contact us.

Responsibilities

  • Manages multiple application development teams that are based locally in Omaha but support and develop applications that are used globally by all of customer service
  • Holds regular sync ups with the team to provide constant feedback on their duties, encourage growth and provide the motivation necessary to maintain a productive, active and collaborative working environment
  • Work with key business and technology leaders to scope, design, architect and deploy solutions that supports all of PayPal customer service
  • Plan and execute the tactical elements of development and integration using best practices and continuously improving on: competencies, productivity metrics, technical design and developing the team they lead.
  • Builds partnerships and relationships with technical and business organizations that allow for collaborative idea and design sessions
  • Focuses on providing an end user experience that is effortless, frictionless and modern looking
  • Creates regular views on project status and gives read outs to exec leadership
  • Can accurately articulate the technical solutions and design considerations of the products being development on the team

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from accredited university 
  • 8+ years of related leadership experience
  • Experience managing the software development life cycle and ensuring that the development teams are executing on time, on quality and on budget
  • Strong leadership capabilities, including experience of leading a highly motivated team
  • Clear, strategic thinker with vision, with the ability to execute on priorities
  • Ability to effectively work under pressure and to meet challenging targets
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills, with the ability to build credible relationships with multiple functions
  • Ability to identify and pursue new technology improvement opportunities
