As the Customer Information Reporting Senior Manager of Cryptocurrency Product for PayPal’s Blockchain, Crypto and Digital Currencies unit. You will help shape the foundation for the next generation of financial services. You will work with a globally distributed, diverse, cross-functional team to create a more accessible, efficient, and inclusive way to perform commerce. Your role will ensure overall compliance of information reporting cryptocurrency policy during the development of new cryptocurrency product offerings pre and post-product launch, both in the US and abroad. The successful candidate will be able to work with cross-functional partners to ensure proposed product design flow and testing meets information reporting policy requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee new crypto products design flow build as information reporting stakeholder and ensure compliant implementation of policy requirements including but not limited to onboarding and lifetime of the account due diligence and information reporting requirements for the US, FATCA, CRS, and local revenue authorities.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify areas of requirements overlap and work towards streamlined processes.
  • Act as a subject matter expert in the development of onboarding flows and information reporting data queries.
  • Ensure compliance with IRS and foreign revenue authority cryptocurrency information reporting requirements.
  • Collaborate with product development in any new process build outs for foreign revenue authority information reporting to ensure compliance with local laws and regulations.
  • Maintain highly effective partnerships with impacted business areas and related processes that impact compliance related to cryptocurrency reporting.

Qualifications

  • BS/BA from an accredited institution and CPA, MBA or JD preferred.
  • 10+ years experience with IRS rules, regulations, and guidance relating to all types of US and global information reporting and/or withholding regimes.
  • 3+ years of financial services compliance and monitoring experience.
  • Detailed knowledge of processes used to fulfill IRS information reporting requirements and electronic filings, corrections, B-notices, calculation of basis and gains and losses.
  • Cryptocurrency/blockchain information reporting compliance required.
  • Proven experience using data to inform decision making.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Analytical and verbal and written communications skills.
  • Ability to work and communicate well with various levels of management
  • Proficiency with Excel, Teradata, SQL.
