PayPal is looking for an experienced, highly engaged and dynamic individual to join our M&A Treasury team. In this role, you will support all aspects of deal diligence through completion of Treasury integration for acquisitions, divestitures and investments globally. The M&A Treasury team is part of the core cross-functional team that supports PayPal’s M&A activity led by the Corporate Development team. This highly visible role is based out of San Jose/San Francisco and will report into Head of M&A Treasury at PayPal.

Job Responsibilities

  • Support strategic M&A transactions and corporate finance activities globally from a Treasury perspective, including acquisitions, JVs, and equity investments, from pipeline and planning stages through and including integration. Key areas include but are not limited to:
    • Perform due diligence, identifying impacts to valuation and the identification/quantification of synergies;
    • Negotiate, set up and manage Escrow and Paying agents and related balances;
    • Create and lead execution of integration plans; and
    • Establish and manage integration budgets.
  • Work closely with variety of key stakeholders, including Corporate Development, Legal, Regional and Domestic Business Units, Accounting Policy, Finance, Tax, and Human Resources functions.
  • Collaborate across the entire spectrum of PayPal’s Treasury team for end state design, including Capital Markets (FX/Investments), Cash Management, Corporate Finance, Insurance, International, and Client Strategy.
  • Manage internal process, constituents and outside advisors.
  • Assist with strategic direction of the M&A Treasury team, and help build and develop best practices for a scalable deal process and execution

Job Requirements and Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Finance/Economics/similar with excellent academic credentials, MBA preferred
  • 10+ years progressive experience in multinational corporate Treasury
  • Merger & Acquisition experience is required
  • Project Management experience
  • Experience with legal contract review
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Organization skills and the ability to manage multiple transactions simultaneously
  • Mindset to proactively engage in M&A efforts – both internally (with other PayPal Finance and non-Finance teams) as well as externally (directly with Target’s team to drive PayPal’s understanding of financial risks)
  • Analytical mindset that focuses on key risk areas of Target financial statements and business projections
