The Sr. Finance Manager, US Consumer Credit Finance will support the financially-responsible operation and expansion of PayPal’s consumer credit programs in the United States, working closely with US credit program leaders, functional leaders within PayPal and external partners to maximize the contribution of US consumer credit to PayPal’s businesses.

This position will lead the analysis and modeling of initiatives, product enhancements, potential partnership programs and pricing strategies for PayPal’s consumer credit businesses.  Additionally, position will support the planning process, which includes near term forecasting, annual planning, and strategic planning.  This person will work closely with credit and finance team leaders, functional area business leaders, and external partners to project and deliver results, while influencing business strategies.  Position will manage the efforts of 1-2 financial analysts and guide their career development.

Specific responsibilities include:

•            Act as business adviser and protector of the financial framework and performance of the US Consumer Credit businesses.  Assure that all key strategic issues and operational initiatives have received thoughtful, organized financial input before decisions are made.

•            Support the near-term and long-term business planning assumptions and pro forma financial statements – coordinate with functional heads (marketing, product, operations, analytics teams)

•            Provide meaningful daily, weekly, monthly input to credit and finance leadership so that trends vs. expectations are clear to all stakeholders.  Report weekly opportunities and risks to corporate Finance group.

 •            Work closely with Sr. Manager of US Consumer credit finance, providing insights and input into the annual plans and monthly forecasts for volume, revenue, fees, losses, loss provision, and Operating Expenses.

•            Liaise closely with risk, accounting policy, credit controllership, legal and compliance to ensure integrity and alignment around financial processes and controls

•            Liaise with key external partners to align on portfolio trends and forecasts, while ensuring adherence to contractual expectations

•            Lead the efforts of 1-2 analysts to deliver consistently accurate work efficiently, while continuously fostering their development as PayPal leaders.

•            This person will report to a Finance Director overseeing Global Consumer Credit and Total Credit Consolidation.

  • Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment with strong 'attention to detail' orientation
  • Extensive experience with financial modeling, scenario analysis, and sensitivity analysis
  • Controls-focused – lead in the effort to establish and extend repeatable, documented processes that ensure controlled growth across the globe.
  • Creativity – helping business leaders to create profitable business approaches to bringing consumer credit to as many of PayPal’s markets as possible, regardless of size


  • 8+ years of Credit finance experience, with strong financial planning and analysis experience and a proven track record (preferably total P&L responsibility)
  • Advanced Proficiency with MS Office, especially with Excel and Powerpoint (VBA experience a plus)
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or engineering  (MBA, CFA, CPA are a plus)
