Business Profile Growth team is helping local and main street businesses by giving them tools to directly engage in commerce and marketing with Venmo’s millions of users. We are looking for Sr. iOS engineer to join our team.

What You'll Do

Venmo is looking for a Sr. iOS engineer to join the team to deliver high quality, secure products to millions of users. As an engineer on the Business Profile Growth team, you will be primarily responsible for feature development and you should be comfortable with planning, developing and testing your code as well as supporting the team with code reviews and debugging. The successful candidate will work closely with the entire product development team during all phases software development and lifecycle. You will work in a fast-paced environment where continuous innovation and experimentation are a given.

We are a small team that values ego-free code reviews, passion for quality and security and is always looking to improve ourselves and the work we deliver to our users. 

About You

  • 5+ years experience in iOS Development 

  • Strong Swift Skills 

  • Familiarity with accessibility 

  • Experience mentoring and developing software engineers 

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to understand and explain technical issues to a non-technical audience 

  • Intimate knowledge of common design patterns, algorithms, and object-oriented programming 

  • Experience leading the development through the full iOS development lifecycle 

  • Experience developing, maintaining and innovating large scale, consumer-facing mobile applications 

  • Strong understanding of testing best practices and familiarity with at least one testing framework for iOS. 

  • You have M.S./B.S. or equivalent degree in Computer Science or related experience. 

In this role, you'll

  • Work within a business profile growth team on a given set of features and services

  • Architect, design, write, review, and test code in a collaborative environment

  • Design, build, and maintain features for Venmo's app

  • Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of the features

  • Build monitoring for all your applications and tasks to ensure their reliability and health

  • Leverage your peers as multipliers for your skills to create excellent products at PayPal

  • Work closely with a product manager for your team on product requirements and translating those requirements to technical solutions

  • Mentor and assist other engineers
