The global benefits team is seeking a leader with extensive knowledge and experience in leading global benefits finance and operational program management. The Sr. Dir, Global Benefits Strategy & Ops is responsible for strategic financial management and benefit operational infrastructure for benefits in 30+ non-US countries with strategic interlock and alignment with the US benefits team, Finance team and HR systems team. In working with the full benefits team, HR, and key functional and business stakeholders, this role is responsible to lead and drive how we manage and oversee our benefits spend and deliver our benefit programs in a highly effective, financially prudent, compliant, competitive, and innovative way.

Reporting to the Vice President, Global Benefits, the Sr. Dir, Global Benefits Strategy & Ops ​ensures that all processes across financial management, program and vendor management, compliance and governance, operational delivery and employee experience are best in class and aligned with our values and objectives. 



Key responsibilities

  • Primary focus will be the end-to-end financial management of all benefit spend globally, creating the infrastructure and operational delivery approach to align benefits financial management with the annual benefits review and assessment process and leadership budget approvals.
  • Evaluate and analyze how benefit spend is managed today, identify gaps and needs, investigate trends, and best practices and partner with internal finance team members and external experts to bring recommendations to senior leadership.  Successfully implement approved model and strategies.
  • Review and assess all aspects of financial management to ensure accuracy, compliance, and effective delivery. Bring well thought out recommendations and strategies to leadership showing a comprehensive view by country that also align to global objectives
  • Lead benefits function strategy and ongoing interlock and engagement with our internal HR systems team, delivery partners and Third-Party Vendors to build a strategy and governance model for benefit program delivery (including internally managed leaves, time off and benefits administered with external partners/interfaces).
  • Lead the critical Global Leave of Absences assessment project (underway) and partner on the implementation of resulting action plans.
  • Serve a critical role as central connection leader for benefits financial management and benefit operation for the various global, US and regional benefits team members.
  • Evaluate prioritized areas of benefits delivery needs/gaps and make recommendations and implement action plans to optimize delivery, better leverage capabilities, streamline processes, enhance reporting, and ensure compliance.
  • Partner closely with senior leadership and the HR analytics team to create financial reporting/insights and processes to enable strategic analysis and planning.
  • Lead the Business Continuity Plan for the Global Benefits team.
  • Lead the overall compliance model for global benefits and ensure in country delivery and alignment via audits and tracking.
  • Provide leadership and support for the Procurement to Payment process for benefit programs, through partnership with internal and external partners, documenting processes and creating structure for the benefits team (removing barriers and complexity).
  • Develop and promote philosophy around time-off/leave accruals and carry-overs showcasing the financial impact on the company books and help bring consistency across the regions.
  • Engage as a strategic partner on the Benefits leadership team and a leader/mentor to benefits and HR professionals throughout the enterprise.
  • Continually monitor and understand current and emerging market trends for benefit program delivery and optimization, identify potential opportunities and gaps, leverage external best practices, and propose and lead initiatives that are aligned to longer term objectives.
  • Create ongoing dashboards and measures for benefits financial and operational management and engagement with strategic partners in Finance, HR systems and the business as required to demonstrate accountability, strategy, and continuous improvement.
  • Lead various projects related to benefit financial or operational delivery.
  • Align benefits operational delivery strategy with the enterprise future of work operating model, to ensure that benefit programs and objectives are effectively delivery regardless of location or remote working scenarios.
  • Participate and play a key role on the Global Benefits Council to ensure alignment and collaboration across all regional and country focused benefit team members.  Sustain trusting and collaborative relationships, provide subject matter expertise and consultation across the council.


Requisite Experience

  • Must be a highly experienced benefits leader with competency across in country and global benefit programs. Strong knowledge of cultural considerations, local legislation and compliance in a large, complex organization that is in many countries
  • Strong program and vendor performance management, cost benefit analysis and budget management experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Finance, or other related areas preferred.
  • 10+ years of benefits-related management experience in a complex, large global public company environment.
  • Thorough knowledge of how global benefit organizations operate and influence and support in country benefits.
  • Strong communication, organization, collaboration, documentation, and presentation skills. Exceptional presentation ability up through executive level.
  • Demonstrated business and HR acumen.
  • Strong project management, innovation, analytical, and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Experience managing ambiguity and risk (taking the unknown into action)
  • Proven track record of translating vision into executable strategy.
  • Ability to use data insights and metrics to create rationale for recommendations.
  • Excellent partnership skills, building rapport and driving results through accountability in an agile environment.
  • Attention to detail, critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills are essential.
  • Having a can-do flexible positive attitude is a must.
