PayPal Consumer Organization is looking for a Core Consumer Platforms evangelist. The mission of the Consumer team at PayPal is to have a Billion Customers engaging with our Platforms, Products and Experiences, a few times a week. We are looking for the right person who can look at our offerings end-to-end across the Consumer Organization and inspire our teams to build our APIs and SDKs with a strong Platform mindset. This person will work closely with product, design, engineering & other stakeholders and empower them to build compelling APIs and SDKs with Developers in mind. This person will also come up with the strategy to package and articulate our Platform capabilities, APIs and SDKs with the best Developer Experience, Sandbox, Documentation and more for Developers to leverage and build on top of.

Job Requirements:


  • Quickly learn the expectations of our 267M customers and Developers.
  • Inspire and empower our teams of product owners, developers, designers and other stakeholders to build our Platforms with Developers in mind.
  • Work closely with the Platform Guild, PPaaS and other key internal stakeholders in coming up with the overall Platform strategy.
  • Provide thought leadership and create a scalable way for the broad org to build and contribute towards the Platform mindset and strategy.
  • Guide decisions on architecture and technical strategy towards this platform vision.
  • Lead by influence.
  • Manage competing priorities and align the organization towards the goal.
  • Be a critical and active member of the overall Consumer Leadership team.
  • Active market and help create community building activities to inspire internal developers and to attract external Developers to our platforms.
  • Identify the necessary OKRs to measure the effectiveness and to validate the success of our efforts.


  • 10+ Years of software development experience.
  • 3+ Years of experience in conceptualizing, building and launching customer facing Platforms, APIs and SDKs.
  • Passionate about software that enables Developers and matures the organization's capabilities.
  • Possess both strong business and technical acumen.
  • Proven ability to lead a matrixed org of distributed, cross-functional teams and exhibits a collaborative mindset.
  • Great communication and negotiation skills capable of communicating effectively with Developers and across all levels of an organization.
  • Strong bias for action and the core PayPal values & behaviors.
  • Experience building high volume customer facing platforms at scale
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Fluent in great architecture design
  • Passion for easily readable code and interest in getting close to the code

Education: BS Computer Science or related technical discipline or its equivalent
