We are looking for a highly motivated Senior Business Analyst to join our Business Analytics team. The Senior Business Analyst position will be a multi-faceted and hands-on analytics role aimed at sharpening Xoom’s business intelligence and customer experience knowledge. You will work closely with the finance, marketing and product teams as well as senior management to provide financial statements, consumer intelligence, to generate business insight and to provide support in business decisions. You will extract, analyze and compile many data sources to gain this knowledge.

  • Responsibilities:

  • Design, generate, and communicate analytics reports and dashboards specifically to measure, monitor, and alert the business regarding unforeseen shifts in the performance and operational risks of the various business units
  • Regularly analyze quantitative user data to measure effectiveness, customer behavior and conversions, and make metric-driven/non-subjective recommendations to improve customer experience
  • Create ad-hoc reports as requested in a timely and accurate manner, assist senior leadership with various tasks and items as needed, comply with all company policies and departmental procedures, ensuring honest and ethical business conduct at all times while maintaining a positive attitude
  • Effectively partner with Senior Leadership to drive decision making at an upper level
  • Partner with various business teams to evaluate and determine the optimal strategies for business growth
  • Have a strong understanding of the underlying Analytics architecture and processes to aid in decision making regarding implementation improvements
  • Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of professional experience in a Business Intelligence or Data Analysis role that include building data interpretation and statistical models
  • Strong experience with SQL, SAS Business Intelligence Tool, and statistical computing languages like R and/or Python
  • Strong knowledge of data manipulation/presentation end-tools. At a minimum, strong Microsoft Excel skills. Tableau or similar is preferred and strongly desired.
  • Ability to use Data tools to effectively interpret data and simplify for communication with Senior Leadership 
  • Proven ability to work effectively with a variety of disciplines ranging from Marketing, Finance, to Engineer teams
  • Ability to communicate with and impact decision making in upper Management
  • Team player who inspires trust, contributes to team success and leads by example to go the extra mile
  • Organized, independent, and proactive, with a balanced temperament to be able to switch rapidly between different projects
  • Ability to build relationships and trust across Analytics user community
  • Strong business acumen and ability to identify and communicate trends and insights in a timely manner
  • An understanding of online commerce vocabulary, best practices, and business processes
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills

  • BS/MS in Business, Economics, Engineering, Math, Statistics, or equivalent experience
