We are looking for a highly motivated Senior Business Analysts to join our Analytics team. This will be a multi-faceted and hands-on analytics role aimed at sharpening PayPal’s business intelligence and optimizing payments platform. You will work closely with the product, payments and engineering teams as well as senior management to provide platform intelligence and KPIs to generate business insights and provide support in business decisions. Analyzes complex business problems and issues using descriptive data analysis, root cause analysis, data management tools, visualization and other tools to process, test, and develop recommendations and insights for decision-makers.

Responsibilities include:

  • Develop and track KPIs to monitor the overall health of payments platform and ensure it’s optimal performance.  The scope includes card acquiring, bank and balance funded transactions, PayPal Core, Braintree, Venmo, Xoom and Paydiant transactions.
  • Collaborate with business operations and product teams, prioritize issue resolution (P0, P1, etc.), and establish and maintain an operating rhythm and accountability to identify and resolve product performance issues.
  • Quantify and translate impact of any product degradation on key metrics such as transaction expense, decline rates, availability to business (ATB) and communicate the potential financial impact to senior execs in a clear and concise manner.
  • Develop standardized methodologies and templates (includes metrics discovery, segmentation, benchmarking, time-periods, etc.) so that products can be launched and tracked in an efficient manner across regions.  This is important as GCP launches products in different markets and there is a need to have an efficient, standardized way to measure and track product launches or enhancements to existing products across different markets.
  • Work with Product managers to establish thresholds for new and existing key performance indicators (KPIs), communicate findings/anomalies to payment platform owner to improve overall platform quality.
  • Develop a strong relationship with the data infrastructure team and provide oversight to the implementation of data quality and data integration solutions across the organization, drive innovative solutions to improve data/analytics quality, data visualization, and automation and scalability of reports and dashboards. 


  • Successful candidates will possess exceptional business judgment, strong analytic skills, and superb communication skills. They must have a passion for living in the data and be comfortable rolling up their sleeves to get into the details of the analysis, as well as being able to synthesize and provide high-level thought leadership.
  • Proven track-record of utilizing a data-driven approach to solve ambiguous business problems and delivering business and operational impact directly and through others.
  • Requires strong technical and analytical skills to translate complex transactional data into valuable and insightful information.
  • 7+ years analytics experience. Experience in payment/financial services industry is a plus.
  • Experience with statistical packages (SAS or R), SQL and reporting tools like Qlikview and Tableau.
  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree preferably in a quantitative field (engineering/accounting/statistics).
