The PayPal Developer Integration team is looking for a Senior API Product Manager responsible for managing suite of APIs responsible for payment acceptance.


  • Product Owner for the API team which is responsible to build products that enable simple and flexible server-side APIs.
  • Own, maintain and evolve existing APIs (v2/payments) as well as play a key role in enabling future features & functionality. . 
  • Prioritize and maintain a balance between on-going maintenance/bugs, new feature requests and a need to keep server-side integrations simple & flexible and continuously evolving with changes in technology and competitor landscape.
  • Ability to do a “tear-down” exercise competitor or other best-in-class products to inform areas of improvement or trends that we can learn from.
  • Gain an “outside-in” perspective by speaking with a cross-section of developers and/or internal client facing teams with a goal to build a case to continuously evolve the API interfaces.
  • Define metrics & KPIs to demonstrate “success” and “progress” as it relates to overall developer satisfaction.
  • Understand the complexities of the payment integration landscape and identify areas where PayPal can continue to differentiate as it relates to your product area.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams within PayPal to build products and constantly innovate by evangelizing the team’s objectives and wins to influence peers and senior management.
  • Provide the right level of support and direction to keep the engineering team working efficiently and aligned with the overall product strategy.
  • Participate in regular cadences (stand up’s, retrospective, planning meeting) and be engaged with the team throughout the product life cycle.
  • Engage with teams (Sales, Marketing, Professional Services) across PayPal to help Pilot and Launch enhancements / improvements with a goal towards improving adoption


  • Experience building developer facing products and an appreciation for the "developer" persona. Have a point of view and a perception on what makes a "good" developer experience.
  • Familiarity and experience evaluating and enabling experience across the broad spectrum of "Developer" touch points – Developer Documentation / Portal, Sandbox, other external and internal tools.
  • Broad Appreciation of API design principles and a maturity to understand e2e Integration Experience as perceived by a developer.
  • Not a coder but comfortable enough to use and demo the API Product being built. Ability to make API requests (JSON),make API calls with Postman/Curl.
  • Prior experience building KPIs/Metrics focused on Developer Interactions particularly concepts such as TTFHW (Time to First Hello World) and others as appropriate.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to adapt your message to the technical level of the audience (developers, product managers and senior business leaders).
  • Have a strong degree of technical fluency that allows you to communicate with and understand your target audience (developers), translating their needs into clear product strategy.
