We are currently seeking a Solutions Engineer to join our Global Professional Services team in London, focusing on Enterprise Merchants. This role is based in our Richmond, London office. The Solutions Engineer plays a pivotal role in enabling our growth and innovation agenda - partnering with commercial teams to work collaboratively with our enterprise merchants. The market we operate in is continually changing, as a member of the team you will need to be on the edge of this - learning new technologies and concepts, and then deploying these in your discussions both internally and externally. The ideal candidate is a motivated self-learner, passionate about problem solving and creating positive experiences for our customers. This job will require some travel.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Partner with commercial teams to build client engagement strategies, including building pitches and associated material

  • Conduct and facilitate discovery and scoping workshops with clients

  • Develop best-in-class solution designs, test cases and launch plans for projects

  • Collaborate closely with internal teams including compliance, risk, information security, customer support and business operations to ensure all aspects of the solution are fit for purpose, and effectively managed

  • Identify any product/functionality gaps required to deliver a solution, and collaborate with internal teams to define any necessary enhancements to support successful delivery

Required Experience

  • Experience in a pre-sales role, for example Solutions Engineer, Technical Pre-sales Engineer or Solutions Architect

  • Excellent communicator (in person & remote), with the ability to clearly articulate technical concepts to a non-technical audience up to C-level

  • Ability to manage multiple projects running in parallel, and to work and collaborate in a global and remote environment

  • Some knowledge of JavaScript fundamentals

Preferred Experience

  • Sound knowledge of payment processing across web, mobile app, and in person

  • Experience of working with enterprise organisations - preferably retailers, ecommerce, shopping carts and payment gateways

  • Experience of working for an existing PSP or acquiring bank

  • Experience with Web and Mobile development technologies (iOS, Android), JavaScript, Node.JS, PHP, Java, REST

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent practical experience
