What you need to know about the role- As a team leader in GFR Automation team, you will lead, own, and manage our software development teams’ infrastructure frameworks, playing a key part in our ability to integrate data science algorithms into production pipeline. You will work closely with data scientists, engineering, and analytical teams, understand the requirements and drive full development lifecycle of the teams’ products, transforming research work to real products. Our ability to enable revenue, prevent fraud, manage credit and other risks in online transactions and markets makes us the largest and fastest growing online payments company in the world. The team is a multi-disciplinary Data Science and R&D team that holds a wide range of responsibilities from research, development, deployment and products’ lifecycle ownership of tools to help data scientist combat fraud. The team is in Israel and working closely with a parallel team in China.

You will be responsible for infrastructures and products that are using cutting edge technologies while integrating data science algorithms. These innovative products are keeping risk decision layer optimal and up to date and by that making sure PayPal is taking optimal decisions that protects our customers and enhance customer experience.

Your day to day

In your day-to-day role you will:

  • Provide technical and personal leadership to team members through coaching and mentorship.
  • Provide architectural guidelines and lead product and features design/re-design, delivering code alongside the team you lead. Guarantee product and code quality (utilizing best practices like code review, automatic testing, CI/CD.)
  • Define roadmap and technical vision, manage teams’ deliverables on high visibility projects
  • Collaborate efficiently with engineers and data scientists across the globe to push products full life cycle.
  • Work with leadership and other global business units within PayPal and develop long lasting and effective partnerships and customer relationships

What do you need to bring-

  • 2+ years' experience as team leader. 4+ years’ experience as a Software Engineer.
  • Experience in team technical guidance including design, code reviews, code best practices, driving agile development methodologies. Ability to analyze requirements and prepare plan for execution.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to manage relationships with key partners across different functions and locations. Able to collaborate with remote partners effectively.
  • Proficient hands-on experience in Phyton including unit testing experience, writing effective and scalable code.
