The Consumer Financial Services (CFS) team at PayPal is democratizing financial services and driving financial inclusion by creating accessible, affordable and convenient solutions to improve the lives of our customers, regardless of where they live and how much money they have.

The CFS Engineering team is based at the Singapore Software Development Centre, offering world-class facilities, excellent working environment at the Central Business District, and as  a Software Engineer on the Backend Services team, you will work closely with Product Managers and your counterparts in the CFS front-end teams (Web & Mobile) to deliver scalable and extensible services that drive the user experience for existing and new Financial Services products.


  • A Bachelor degree with 3 – 5 years of hands-on experience, or a Masters Degree (Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics or related area)
  • Hands on experience in the following areas:
    • Java, OO-based design and development.
    • Development in/for Linux environment.
    • Strong skills in Server Side Java, Spring, Hibernate, REST
    • Test methodologies and testing tools, e.g., TestNG, JUnit.
    • Knowledge of Docker, Cloud Architectures, RX
    • Full-SDLC cycle, with large-scale live roll-out participation as a developer
  • Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with remote teams across time zones is essential
  • Strong verbal and writing skills
  • Experience in finance-related domains preferred
