PayPal seeks an engineer for its Giving Platform team in Guatemala City. In this role you will be working with a team of engineers to build the next generation Giving and Fundraising platform which will enable next-gen experiences/products. The PayPal Giving Platform team builds donation and fundraising products that connects hundreds of thousands of non-profits and business, millions of donors and tens of Partner marketplaces at a global scale to drive good for the community whilst meeting the company’s business objectives

Required Skills:

  • BS in Computer Science or related degree required. MS preferred
  • Proficient in English
  • 3+ years of experience in delivering enterprise class applications
  • Excellent knowledge of programming languages, especially Java script
  • Exposure in building applications with popular JS frameworks and libraries (React, Babel, Webpack, Lodash, NodeJS).
  • Solid understanding of async event processing and handling
  • Very strong foundational knowledge in Object-Oriented Design Principles, Data Structures, Algorithms, SQL/NoSQL, Operating Systems, and Software Engineering
  • Experience working with large scale applications, production rollouts, monitoring and debugging live issues
  • Experience with test automation: TDD, unit/integration/functional testing.
  • Have a passion for quality and writing clean, solid, readable code that scales and performs well.
  • Strong desire to learn, push the envelope, and share knowledge with others.
  • Strong debugging and problem-solving skills across the whole tech stack - language, databases, web servers and system environment
  • Proven interpersonal communication skills

Responsibilities include:

  • Participate in development life cycle activities like design, coding, testing and production release.
