The Credit Services team provides the business capability that adds credit to the wallet of millions of PayPal customers. The software this team develops enables the fastest growing revenue area of the company. As a member of this team, you’ll be working side-by-side with some of the sharpest and highest-performing software engineers at PayPal. You will be responsible for all aspects of the software development lifecycle of our existing and next generation credit products. This is a unique opportunity to get in-depth knowledge on developing highly-scalable, distributed services to enable PayPal’s credit products as well as a breadth of knowledge of payment systems in general.

Job Requirements

  • Experience – 5+ years of software development and degree in Computer Science or related major
  • Java or C++ – Comfortable (4+ years in an academic or professional environment)
  • JUnit (2+ years experience)
  • Maven (2+ years experience)
  • Spring (2+ years experience)
  • JAX-RS (1+ years experience)
  • RESTful Web Service design (2+ years experience)
  • ORM frameworks like hibernate
  • Linux
  • Oracle and SQL

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelors, Masters, or PhD in Computer Science or related major 
  • Self-starter
  • Flexible and able to cope with ambiguity
  • Able to communicate within the team and outside the team to understand dependencies and deliver working code
