We are looking for a software engineers to help us build products that will ensure services are highly available and highly performant and maintains border security. PayPal’s Routing Team is looking for an engineer with experience in networking and internet protocols, with Golang experience as a plus. The perfect candidate will have great engineering skills as well as a passion for quality and delivering highly available services. You will be joining a team, which delivers at high frequency while maintaining availability, performance, scalability and security.

Typical Engineer responsibilities:

  • Design, develop and test features, i.e. ownership from start to finish
  • Load and performance testing
  • Support routing components in live, by triaging live issues

A Successful Engineer:

  • Deliver solid implemented and tested features using TDD
  • Follows good engineering practices
  • Excellent team member
  • Works well in agile environment
  • Seeks to improve and to help others improve
  • Does not cut corners


  • BS w/ 2-3 years experience or MS in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Exceptional candidates with less experience considered
  • 2+ years experience with Go/Java/C++
  • Golang experience a plus
  • Previous experience in routing layer
  • Understanding of HTTP, TCP, networking
  • Experience with multi-threading/concurrent programming
  • Testing fundamentals, both unit and functional testing
  • Ownership of quality
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Must be a self-learner
