As a software Engineer focusing on data and service development, you will closely work with the various world-class data driven e-payment related businesses in PayPal's GRC (Governance, Risk, and Compliance) Platform, etc. You will work in a fast-paced environment where continuous innovation and experimentation are a given.

Typical responsibilities include:
• Design, development, and testing of features/functions delivered via applications and services
• Collaborating with peers and senior developers both within the team and across the organization
• Working with product managers using agile methodologies to deliver high quality solutions in a fast-paced environment
• Working with operations teams to ensure your applications and services are highly available and reliable
• Supporting your data processing, applications and/or services

Job Requirements

• BS degree in Computer Science or Engineering

• 3+ years of professional software development experience

• Competent in design/implementation for reliability, availability, scalability and performance.

• Competent in at least one coding language like java/scala, as well as basic algorithms.

• Competent in software engineering tools and best practices.

• Working in data engineer or a similar role in large enterprise data team preferred

• Familiar with various big data technologies, open source data processing frameworks. E.g. Hadoop, Spark, Hive, HBase, ElasticSearch, etc.

• Good understanding of REST-oriented APIs, understanding of distributed systems, data streaming, Complex Event Processing, NoSQL solutions for creating and managing data integration pipelines for Batch and Real Time Data needs.

• Strong analytical and problem solving skills.

• Experience with development tools like Git.

• Experience with automation tools, like Jenkins.

• Work and collaborate well with executives and customers

• Fluent in both spoken and written English.
