We are looking for a talented Software Engineer to help us strengthen our world class risk prevention and mitigation systems in order to successfully combat cybercrime. Risk Xoom Engineering team is responsible for fraud detection, risk management and regulatory compliance services across Xoom - globally. To achieve this we are always looking at advances in technology likes AI, Machine learning and data science and tying those back to business needs. Our engineers build strong competencies in data structures and algorithms, along with a deep understanding of business processes

  • Participate in the full development life cycle, including design, coding, testing and production release.
  • Turn requirements into successful technical solutions.
  • Develop code by writing effective mock, unit, and integration tests first.
  • Partner closely with design & product to craft great product experiences.
  • Deliver code in an agile team environment.
  • Drive innovation through rapid prototyping and iterative development.
  • A passion for technology and for developing robust, scalable, state of the art software systems.


Qualifications:

  • Strong object-oriented design and programming background.
  • Experience with service-oriented architecture and REST-based web service development.
  • Experience with backend development in Java/Springboot.
  • Passionate about developing amazing user experiences.
  • Experience in troubleshooting frontend and backend applications. Attention to detail.
  • Strong desire to learn, push the envelope, and share knowledge with others.
  • Experienced in writing unit, functional and integration tests.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with Elastic Search, Redis, MySQL, and RabbitMQ.
  • Experience with Unix and Docker.
  • Knowledge of popular JS frameworks and libraries is a plus.
  • Working on cloud based environment is a plus

Education:
BS in Computer Science or equivalent technical training and professional work experience
