SFMC Interaction Studio Specialist Developer

The Team – Marketing Technology (aka MarTech):

MarTech team is responsible for the technology & experiences driving PayPal marketing activities touching millions of customers worldwide. Team is on a transformational journey to consolidate disparate tools onto a common marketing platform that can automatically drive intelligent decisions about the next best action for any given customer based on how they interact with PayPal products & services. In order to succeed in this endeavor, we are creating an ecosystem that brings together people, process & platform as one; offering our customers a hyper-personalized experience that is both timely and relevant. The team comprises of highly skilled & experienced technologists who work closely with data scientists & marketers to implementing solutions that drive value for our customers and ultimately to PayPal. MarTech team is part of the broader Employee Technology & Experiences (ETX) organization at PayPal.

Location: Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad

Travel: Main destinations will include San Jose (Global HQ) & Global Hubs: San Jose, New York, London, Singapore.

Job Description, T-Profile:

SFMC specialist developer codes, configures, tests, and debugs new marketing campaigns, including data configuration, email distributions, audience creation, and utilization of capabilities in the Salesforce Marketing Cloud Platform. This role requires working experience of Interaction Studio (Evergage version) and good understanding of Einstein for setting up real-time 1:1 personalization campaigns.

Depth Type: Deep

  • Must have experience working with Interaction Studio and use of Einstein for Recommendations & Decisions (Next Best Actions)

  • Proficient in leveraging various studios & builders in SFMC platform for running B2B marketing campaigns. Studios - Email, Social, Web, Mobile etc. Builders – Journey, Contact, Audience, Content, Analytics etc.

  • Deep hands-on understanding of SFMC’s data extension architecture, integration capabilities & automation capabilities.

  • Knowledge of Salesforce administrative functions including process builder, triggers and workflow is desirable.

  • Experience working on large scale B2B Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC) implementations.

  • Good knowledge of SQL, SOQL, Web development (HTML, JS & CSS) & Amp scripting.

  • Agile mindset and knowledge of Dev Ops, CI-CD tools & process is a must.

Breadth Type: Narrow

  • Experience with iPaaS platforms such as Boomi & Mulesoft.

  • Knowledge in setting up & managing ingest/egest data pipelines for SFMC.

  • Good knowledge of architecture patterns for Security, Data and Applications.

  • Digital Marketing domain.

You are participating in the Scrum Ceremonies of the team and are dearly missed if you cannot attend. Everyone loves interacting with you. The team trusts, that with you around, no technical and architectural barriers exist. Week after week you are enabling any and every marketing use cases with rapid Proof of Concepts, building away user stories and features and orchestration across PayPal technical ecosystem.

Skills to be used: Deep knowledge of Interaction Studio. The ubiquitous language used to articulate business or technical problems to drive knowledge acquisition for the team.

What will your quarter look like?

You have identified parts of the PayPal technical ecosystem which needs to be integrated with Salesforce to enable various marketing use cases. You are helping shape & define the to-be state continuously and moving towards it. You are reviewing key metrics, learning from mistakes, and scaling up omni-channel use cases.

Skills to be used: Interaction Studio, Einstein Recommendations & Decisions, Journey Builder.

What will your year look like?

You are helping everyone around you and distributing your specialist knowledge and experience. You are aware of PayPal tech & data strategy. You are aligned and aware of the enterprise-wide architecture vision. All effort in pivoting and improving reference architecture can be celebrated now as business cases are getting delivered at faster speed with quality. Infosec and compliance are most happy as security and governance is built into the design.

Skills to be used: Marketing Domain and PYPL Enterprise Architecture understanding. Collaboration and Continuous learning.

Education & Experience required:

  • Computer science degree and Salesforce developer certifications

  • 5+ years experience in Agile environments implementing SaaS solutions

  • Essential experience in managing multiple small/medium workstreams in parallel. 

  • Digital marketing experiences a big plus
