In PayPal, we leverage business rules engine to support a variety of business cases like fraud prevention, legal regulation, company policy, customer contact routing etc. Decision Operation Management (DOM) team is in the position to manage all the business rules and supporting Rules Engine integration for different business domains. We are currently seeking one Senior Software Engineer to build solutions/applications which can help address different problems during our Business Rules operation process. With your technique expertise, you will work on build end to end solutions for our new product Pluto365 which is target as one-stop shop to serve our Pluto day to day operation work in the further, and help on improvement for some of our existing applications as Rule Snapshot etc.

Job Requirements:

  • PayPal decision engine business rules operation work, including rules review, release, governance etc.
  • Monitoring/trouble shooting/resolve release problems in coordination with Platform teams and/or engage outside teams when needed
  • Build technical solutions to make rules management with scale
  • Design and implement applications and RESTFul API service to help on process improvement
  • Web application development with a variety of languages including but not limited to JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Python, etc.
  • Ability to work independently, comfort with ambiguity, and ability to deliver within strict time frames
  • Self-starter, desire to learn additional system and product knowledge, as well as new skills in technology

Basic Qualifications 

  • More than 3 years software development experience
  • Solid Programming skills in Java, Python and Linux Shell Script
  • Experience in web application development and RESTFul API design
  • Experience in database usage for both SQL and no-SQL (Teradata/MySQL/MongoDB/Influx/ES)
  • Good communication skills in English
  • Experience in business rules engine is a plus
  • Experience in data analytics and machine learning is a plus
