The Sr. Manager, Strategic Insights & Enablement within our Commerce PMM team will be responsible for leading strategic new business proposal initiatives and delivering high-impact insights that help inform and tell the story of how PayPal is differentiated in the marketplace. This exceptional professional will be tasked with presenting the value of PayPal’s flexible payment and commerce solutions in a clear and effective way to resonate with the needs of merchants and help our internal teams accelerate and win new deals.

The Commerce Product Marketing (PMM) team is tasked with bringing to life existing and new products (like pay later solutions) in new ways, and integrating them with other experiences to highlight PayPal as a true commerce partner to our customers.  When products & features are ready for launch, the PMM team provides the product positioning and market insights to develop go to market plans for Sales, Marketing & Communications teams.  The Commerce PMM team plays a central role in ensuring that we establish PayPal as the preferred way to pay in every context. 

This Sr. Manager role is highly interactive and requires close teamwork with internal PMM partners as well as with Sales, Product, Legal, and Operations teams to generate quality content that deepens and enhances PayPal’s relationship with merchants across verticals. 

What You’ll Be Responsible For:

  • Develop and contribute to content that supports strategic sales discussions, RFP submissions and merchant marketing initiatives.    

  • Lead or support fast-paced new business proposal workstreams for key strategic enterprise merchants.

  • Initiate and support market research to understand the evolving needs of consumers and merchants, delivering those insights and implications to key stakeholders across the organization.

  • Combine a deep understanding of our evolving global platform offerings, with internal and external research learnings, to support ongoing PMM initiatives and continuously improve the impact of our value story.

  • Capture feedback from sales and other go to market functions on what is working to refine messaging, inform research plans and go to market strategies

  • This is an individual contributor role without any direct reports

Who you are:

  • A BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience

  • 7+ years of relevant work-experience  

  • Ideally, experience with two-sided environments (ie consumer & merchant products)

  • Experience working in the following areas:

    • Marketing

    • E-commerce/Omnichannel retail

    • Payments

  • A strategic problem solver with a high degree of business acumen and excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to work across a matrixed environment and collaborate/influence effectively at all levels

  • Curious and energized by a deep understanding of what customers care about, what their goals are, the evolving global payments and shopping landscape

  • Strong analytical skills, as well as excellent written and oral communication skills, with ability to tell stories that bring a product value proposition to life

  • Self-starter who can manage priorities, meet deadlines and has exceptional project management skills, inclusive of the ability to lead and organize the development of marketing materials, new research, or new business proposals
